About the magazine Russian Forestry Review
The editorial board of «LesPromInform», a specialized forest journal, presents a unique project – English-speaking information edition of the Russian Timber Industry Complex – Russian Forestry Review (RFR).
Aim of RFR – to provide foreign companies with quality and timely information about the Russian timber market.
We inform foreign partners about:
- current forest legislation in Russia;
- actual state of affairs in major TIC sectors;
- problems, risks and prospects of RF TIC development;
- forest resources and development of TIC sectors in RF forest regions;
- activities of major Russian TIC companies;
- expected investment projects in RF TIC.
This information is vitally important to improve Russian TIC image as viewed by other countries, and, consequently, attract investments and strengthen partnership ties in this sector of RF national economy.
The initial issue of RFR appeared in May 2006. The journal was issued in 5,000 copies and accepted by western and Russian business community and administrative bodies with interest and enthusiasm.
In September 2007, we published the second issue of RFR journal. By the moment of its appearance, the journal got its electronic and printing subscribers who became the first to read RFR ¹2. In addition to this, the journal was officially presented at IX International Forest Forum held in Saint Petersburg on 9-12 October 2007. This was the first event at which RFR ¹2 was distributed. You will find the full list of congress and exhibition events here.
We have started to prepare the third issue of Russian Forestry Review, which is expected to be published in late August 2008, just before Lesdrevmash-2008 (Russia, Moscow, 1-4 September 2008).
The planned contents of RFR ¹3 are under development, but a number of issues will surely be covered. Among them are:
- alterations in RF forest legislation, degree of their influence on Russian TIC;
- transfer of forest management functions to RF constituent entities;
- investment climate in Russian TIC;
- reviews of TIC sectors, which undergo the most significant changes in 2007 and early 2008, e.g. construction of new facilities, change of customs and tariff rules, investment climate, etc.;
- reviews of RF forest regions, etc.
