Itinerary Contents of Russian Forestry Review ¹3

Esteemed ladies and gentlemen!

We are pleased to offer you the contents of RFR ¹3. It is still under development and, consequently, incomplete, but we would like to share with you our ideas relating to it.

In accordance with the approved strategy of Russian Forestry Review, each subsequent issue is to be the follow-up of the previous ones.

RFR ¹3 is planned to be issued in October 2008.The issue will cover the following topics:

  1. expected outcomes of Russia’s joining WTO for thee national timber industry complex
  2. export-import regulation in Russian TI
  3. latest amendments to RF forest legislation, their influence on the condition of Russian TI
  4. transfer of forest management functions to the administrative bodies of RF constituent entities: a summary
  5. investment climate in Russian TI; governmental measures taken to enhance TI investment attractiveness
  6. summaries of forest-related industries which are to undergo significant changes in 2007 and early 2008, e.g., commissioning new facilities, changes in customs and tariff regulation, investment climate, etc.
    The following industries are expected to be included in the list:
    - logging
    - timber processing (panels, construction materials, laminated timber structures)
    - pulp and paper industry
    - timber house building
    - others
  7. Summaries of RF forest regions:
    - Siberian Federal District: Republic of Altai, Republic of Buryatia, Republic of Tyva, Republic of Khakassia, Altai Krai, Krasnoyarsk region, Irkutsk, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk and Chita regions, Agin-Buryat Autonomous District, Ust-Ordyn-Buryat Autonomous District, Evenki Autonomous District.
    - Far Eastern Federal District: Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Primorye Krai, Khabarovsk Krai, Amursk region, Jewish Autonomous District.

The list given above is not a final version of contents of the edition, and may be reviewed and amended. The editorial board is ready to receive your proposals and wishes. We offer cooperation to experts and analysts.
