New contract of Eurosib June, 10, 2007
For this agreement to be met the logistic operator bought 300 specialized forestry platforms that might provide transportation of timber up to half million tons per year. The agreement acts since the 1st of May 2007. Transportation of timber will be fulfilled from the wood-sawing plants of the North-Western Region of Russia to the wood-processing plants of Metsaliitto group in Finland. In accordance with the signed agreement Eurosib proposed to Metsaliitto differentially falling quote. Such pricing policy is connected with the orientation of a company to the long-term contra-profitable relationships with customers. Eurosib had collaborated before with one of the huge Finnish forestry concerns providing fright services in the company’s wagons. Though, such a long-term agreement was signed for the first time. In 2006 Eurosib transported around 3 million tons of round timber and 500 thousand tons of the technological chips; the market share in the exporting transportation of timber in the North-West of Russia was 20%. A new contract will allow Eurosib to force the leading position on this highly competitive market.
