IKEA to Build a Plant in Ishim

The town of Ishim has allocated a land plot for the new IKEA plant. The plant, producing birch lumber, furniture panels and other accessories will occupy 40 hectares. Presently, the Swedish concern specialists develop the feasibility report regarding the project. The project will need at least ˆ1mn. The plant able to process 100–150 thousand cu m of sawlogs, will employ about 300 workers. Creation of timber processing facilities is the priority target of the economic policy of the Ishim authorities. The project is actively supported by specialists from regional departments regulating investment and forest industry issues.
