Altai Planned Development Up to 2017

A draft law “On Republican Target Programme “Development of Advanced Timber Processing Facilities and Forests in republic of Altai Up to 2017” has been approves at the meeting of the Altai government. The programme will require RUR1.97bn of investments, including RUR279.6mn from the regional budget, and RUR1,690.5mn from extra-budgetary resources.

As a result of the measures planned, the total volume of harvest will reach 751.8 thousand cu m, a sawmill producing fuel pellets (environmentally friendly fuel) will be built, glued panel and lumber facilities will be commissioned as well as plants producing parquet, upholstery, kitchen and cabinet furniture, the wages in the industry will grow 2.5 times, the tax collectability will increase seven times.
